Talking to a neighbour with a JD this morning, he mentioned he was taking out the fingers on the pickup auger to minimize the wrapping.

Neighbors running case 9230s did some custom work nearby. They were flying in straight cut flax. 40ft macdon header. 6+mph they said. Not one stop

We desiccated our sorrel flax last and we cut very fast. Were told to take out fingers on centre drum if it wrapped , but we never had to

grew glas this year , it's earlier but sure didn't yield that good. mind you the water really beat us this year. we just found every year we were fighting wrapping with Sorel. every once in a while it would combine good , but not very often

We've grown flax for years: we swath. The straw we chop or bale, done both.
If at all possible combine on a hot day, but always seed the stubble on a hot day.

A few years ago we switched to swathing our flax and haven't straight cut since. Swathing gives us the ability to chop the straw, even on irrigated fields.
With swathing we can usually combine the flax right after the wheat is off. Before we were waiting a month at times for the straw to dry
