    Trimble AgGPS EZ-Guide

Hello, I have tried the Trimple AgGPS EZ-Guide SL Lightbar. First day was super, conencting at 40' seeding like the manual markers. Next day, the signal was most of the day at 'low accuracy', unusable for grain seeding, simply a mess.

Day after, I took a three day free subscription with Thales, made no difference.

To make this work, it has to be at 2-4" accuracy, all the time.

Question: what works and what is upgradable to use for autosteering?

Hope for your answers, Joerg Klempnauer, kslseed@klempnauer.ab.ca

These gps units are not designed to replace a drill marker. They work best in conditions when you can not find your mark, such as tall straw, very hilly land, or to replace foam markers.

Do not buy a system, with what you think it will be able to do in a couple of years. It will be obselete long before the couple of years comes along. What is available then will be so much more technologically advanced, you will end up buying new then.

It seems that this spring, the US gov't has located more satelites into an orbit over IRAQ, and we have had lower satelites counts all spring because of it. Normally, we get 1-2 more satelites available, which improves the accuracy.
