The hydraulics on my case 2390 are surging.The pump and compensator valve were changed in 1999.The pump seems to put out a low volume then surges to what it should be then drops off again.All filters are new.Any ideas?

I'm not sure how the hydraulic system is set up in your tractor, but the pump putting out a low volumn and then surging might be a sign that air is getting into the suction side, and then as the level in the sump moves about it covers the leak, allowing the pump to operate at normal capacity. This would account for the surge. Just guessing! Siggy.
