    MF tractors

Looking at some used MF tractors models 6120 and 8120 both with MFD and loaders. Have no experience with any MF tractors since dads 44, what are the differences of the datatronic and autotronic trans? Are these good loader tractors? Thanks for the help

    Hey Lee,

You must be across the pond,or someone brought the 6120 over. The 6120 was never sold in North America new.

The early 6100 series were not the most dependable of tractors. Plenty of electronic glitches.

The Autotronic is a basic electronic control system, only certain functions. The Datatronic is a lot more complex, and controls quite a bit more functions. Check out a brochure,or your local Massey dealer for more info.

Parts will be hard to get(new)and very expensive, like JD or Case expensive MF parts come from Regina but they don't stock much there. Most anything will have to come from Jolliette Illinois. Here in Central AB that means a week to get parts. Also that model 6180 didn't have much for sales so you can nearly forget getting parts from a wrecker. If you were to ask me look for a 4050-4250-4450 JD or a 5240 or 5250 CaseIH Try out IRONSEARCH.com to find dealers with stock & pricing Good Luck x-MF partsman
