    Flexicoil 5000 shanks breaking

    Does any one else have a problem with breaking the 350 lb shanks on a 5000 drill? My drill is a 1993 and I use 1" Atom jet knives.

      Hello, seems nobody wants to talk seeding or crop production. We use a 5000 with 450 shanks and had no problem. What speed do you run?

          Did you buy this machine used by any chance and if so did it come from a stony area?Chances are your shanks could have been cracked up before you got the machine and are breaking for you now when they have to trip.We use bourgaults and every shank we break was damaged long ago.

              We seed at about 4-4.5 mph, We bought it new, and our soil is a clay loam.
