    JD 936 MoCo

I,m currently looking around for a new mower and like what I see in the JD 936. My concern is the recommended horse power to operate it is 90 horse power and at present I only have a 85 horse power unit. I know it's foolish to operate equipment under powered but would like to know if anyone presently pulling one of these machines and using a 85 horse power unit are running into problems.

You limit the capacity of your discbine unless you have 10 horse power per foot. This year in central Alberta a few less hp would have worked in the thinner than normal crops.

We have a 935 JD Disc bind with flail conditioner which is 12 foot wide. We pull it with a 6400 JD tractor which is 85 HP. In my opinion they are matched very well.

Thanks for the replies -- it gives me a better idea at what I should be looking at with the power I have available.
