I am looking for research reports on the application of manure on edible crops; particularly, the effects on soil organisms and absorbtion by plants. Are these affected by composting and/or fall application?

I have found plenty relating to ground water but very little on edible crop application.

You could try OCCi.ab.ca, this is part of Olds College and they have a composting centre. The other place is somew of the Organic certification associations may have information or links to sites that may be of some help
