Has anyone had a Farm Business Assessment done through the Canadian Farm Families Options Program? What did you like/dislike about it?

First - it is available to any operator, not only those who qualified for a poorly designed program called "options".

Second - If you have an opportunity and go throught the process I would suggest it. The success of the process will depend on the advisor. Using a stand alone advisor may not give you access to a broad range of experience or benchmarking.

Depending on where you live, there can be an individual or firm that is approved by the program to deliver the service. From the advisor side, there is a very lengthy application process in order to be approved to consult and deliver an FBA. From the other side, this is good as it "weeds" out the basement advisors and so called farm consultants that may not have the experience or tools to deliver.
