Long-time lurker here. Dan is here. I've been working on something over the winter and I'm at the point where I need real fields and real farmers to tell me if it's any good or if I'm fooling myself.
It's a tool that takes a field -by location and pulls together the soil survey, six years of satellite vegetation history, and the weather/GDD data, then suggests a nitrogen rate and timing for that field instead of a blanket county number. It shows its reasoning: why it nudged up for lower OM, down for good drainage, that kind of thing. You'd still make the call . it's a second opinion, not a prescription.
I'm not selling anything. It's free this season. What I'm actually after is honest feedback and, at harvest, what you actually applied and what you got, so I can see whether the recommendations hold up on real ground. If it's useless I want to know that too.
