    Wild Oats In Canary Seed

What products are availible to spray wild oats out of Canary seed. We used to use Avenge but it is no longer availible. What can you use?

We sprayed Puma on ours a few years ago. A little yellowing, but not unusual for Puma.

Thanks for the info. What rate did you use? Didn't hurt the canary seed other than the yellowing?

We sprayed puma at half rate alone a couple of years ago, and may as well of used glyphosate.
Avadex is back again and I think it is registered for canary. There are some escapes, but if you don't think it is going to work, leave a check strip. I know that it usually satisfies my curiosity.

Puma/buctril M full rate last five years no problem. Reduced rates of puma will hurt crop even with lots of moisture.

I've had good luck with the Puma Buctril mix. You don't want to cut your Puma rate, in doing so you also cut the rate of the safener. You'll want to be sure to have a phenoxy (such as the MCPA in Buctril) in the mix as it will help the plant metabolise the Puma.
