    allellopathic pulse crops?

I have noticed much nicer pulse crops on canola stubble, than the opposite, canola on pulse crop stubble. I doubt because of the snow recharge in the deeper stubble, as usually spring moisture was good whenever I would try these types of rotations. Ultimately, I seem to grow the best canola in wheat stubble.

    Anyone else notice this?

Could be, that the canola removed large parts of available N, pushing the peas to make their own. We saw this last year in Southern Alberta, with 6-7" of rain in 3 days. All grain crops looked yellow for 3 weeks, peas looked beautifull. Joerg Klempnauer
