    Soybeans - Pic Heavy

    Hi All,

Thought I'd share some pics of our beans... these were from 10 days ago and they just keep on growing... We have 6 varieties on 110 acres, seeing which mature fast enough and which yield well. 2 Dekalb, 23-11 and 23-60, two Pioneers, P001 and P002, and two Northstar varieties, Reston and Moosomin.

We're about 250 miles north of the US/Canada border, so a long way from Iowa/Illinois!

First three are from the drone.

Great nodulation on those Klause. What innoculants did you use?

Our Restons are 50 inches tall. Do soybeans lodge? What happens if they do?

Ours are waist high. Yes they can lodge... and get really fun to harvest. I'd they lodge after the pods are filled no ill effects other than combining. If they lodge before it can severely hurt yield.

Yes ours are waist high, beans in pods even at top of plant. Very even stand. Best beans ever. Harvest mid September.

Beans will lodge, but nothing like peas, you can still pick them up with a flex. Probably wont even need the air reels this year they are so tall. Straw on the other hand could be tough to work in if the stems dont get a good solid dry down. Very little canola planted in parts of s.mb this year, beans are really taking over quickly.

Is the soybean the same as the Edemame Bean? They sure look the same.

Too tall are not always good. Can get white mold bad and cause a lot of yield loss. Look good klause! Gonna need more heat
