Public canola variety trials cancelled...what can farmers do about it?

I recently read that the seed companies are not supporting the public canola yield trials.

What are all of your opinions of the cancelling of the PCVT? They are prairie-wide trials of new canola varieties that are tested by the canola council.

Why don't we as farmers replace the "trials" with real-on farm field scale results on the varieties we grow?

Do you figure out your final yields per acre by variety each year?

Complain to your local Pioneer hybrid and dekalb sales people let them know you won't be buying their products based on their private so called data.
