Serious question for you guys.
We lock the shop, lock the chemical shed, lock the bins. But what about the farm data?
Last month a buddy near me got hit - his email was spoofed and they almost got him to wire money for "parts". Another guy in the coffee shop lost access to his John Deere Operations Center login.
Got me thinking:
CISA is warning farms specifically now - ransomware doesn't care if you're 5,000 acres or 500.
I put together a simple 1-page checklist we use on our farm now - 61 checks, takes about 20 minutes. Covers Wi-Fi, backups, who has access to what, what to do if you get hit. Not IT-guy stuff, just farm common sense.
If anyone wants it, it's here: https://payhip.com/b/4a9cM
Curious though - has anyone here actually had a close call? Or what are you doing for backup?
Let's hear it - this feels like one of those things we all ignore until it hits.

Got me thinking:
- Your dairy robot / grain dryer app / bin monitoring is all on Wi-Fi now
- Your precision maps, yield data, herd records - all in the cloud
- One bad click and someone could lock your email, your accounting, your autosteer subscriptions
