When do most think they will start harvest on red lentils? It is the most advanced crop in SW-West Central and expect we will start Mon/Tues. Any guess from other areas?

We did some combining on thursday and they tested 16.2 moisture will give it another try this afternoon. -
Probably start putting out some transorb next week on some that were seeded on a gravel pile and then cobine 10:14 days after that
Lentils on good ground around Davidson need some serious heat, Dam things just keep growing will be a monster crop but weather will determine quality.
Thanksgiving will definatly be in Field this year.Comment

We started last night and the yield is very disappointing. I guess you can't expect much with 3 inches of rain and less than 6 inches of sub moisture in the spring.Comment

Jagfarms, what do you consider to be a disappointing yield? There are lots in this area that have just been sprayed out. No harvest as yet.Comment

5-10 bu acre so far. By looking at them before we started combining I thought they would yield around 15 as the stand is almost as good as last year when the yielded 20 bu acre.Comment
