    Chinese investment in farm land

Was just chatting with someone and have unconfirmed purchase of 20 quarters of land by Chinese investors. Supposedly they are living in Vancouver and are either Canadian citizens or permanent resident. What is the law these days anyway about land purchase?

E-mail Gary Pike, those clowns have bought a ship load of land over the past four years. All based out of Calgary though.

NEW FLASH! In Canada there is NO LAW that prohibits foreign purchase. In fact it is just the opposite. Canada encourages foreign purchases and or investment. I think they would like to sell everything the entire nation, if they could to outsiders. No land use restrictions, unless of course in the cities, and only then if you don't have a councilman in your pocket. Canada should have a K in front of it like the Big KMart, its all for sale at low, low prices.

Hey just wait till they find out they must pay more for fertilizer here. That is produced here and shipped to china. Actually I have been getting aquainted with some Chinese that have truck loads of money and they don't even seem to care if they buy a profitable business. They want a ticket to Canada for their kids.
