S AB urea yesterday $480/MT delivered to your bin now. $503 delivered late Feb or early march. No quote for in store. Problem is grain is sitting in bins now.

Good blendable S 345/T now. Cannot get a price on sulfer fines until maybe end Feb. told. Was told 46 went up 100 per ton but I don't use it anyway. I am North East Sask. I will not give out my dealers name. I am interested in the fines price because one can replace some of the N with it if the right price and the extra S is some benefit.
Another dealer still has no price, another still over 100/T higher on the P and S. I am ordering in the morning.

Wow just done some number crunching.
Buy the S Replace all 75lbs of N with the S now for Canola fields.
Have option of possibly replacing S with fines for better value because don't have to take delivery till into March. Fines don't have to take delivery till application. Don't take into account the cost of spreading and better off because don't have to purchase S for undetermined amount of years. S just found some big demand.
I could put the blendable on with the drill at high speeds or hire an applicator for the fines. Decisions decisions.

Anybody ever apply 450 lbs of S so they did not need any more N? Will the N still be in the ground properly? Could there be some losses?

                  Hopper,

Direct hit your fines... they get solid (IN THE TRAILER) in a hurry if there is any moisture in the air. Bin storage is a very BAD idea.

Acidification is a concern with high rates... we put it on when the Canola gets 6 inches or taller... after spraying for weeds... so we feed the canola not the weeds!

Tom what rates do you normally use when broadcasting? Waiting till canola is 6 inches would be too late for the full N application and worry that it is too late even for the S But have heard that the S uptake later can be OK. Does your canola show S deficiency before application?
