    System upgrade

Takes a heck of a long time to get onto this site sometimes.

    Anybody else have problems?

    Time for an upgrade?

    Have asked Joe/Farms.com to respond.

Yes this site takes forever to load, and a lot of times in frustration...I just leave it.

3 times out of ten I cant even get into the topics. Even when I do, its sluggish at best.

I wonder how much traffic is on this site?

If anybody is still using dial-up i would highly recommend going to high speed.

Agreed GoldKanuck, it has nothing to do with isp speed at our ends. At the same time A-V is crapping out, any other website is snappy and quick.
Although this evening A-V speed is decent.

I think 'single desk' supporters gave up!

We have been testing some new discussion software and I have not been happy with the performance so we did not want to switch over Agri-ville with out a 100% confidence in the new software....

We were originally going to merge it with Farms.com chat site (newer software)but now I think we should keep Agriville separate now as the Western Canadian flavour of the discussion might be lost if we put it together with Farms.com.....this will require a new site and software though...

I have asked the tech guys to look at several new discussion software packages asap and we will try to come up with a new system right away.

I would like a few people to have a look at the new site before we switch it over...Parsley, I may ask for your advice/feedback...you have been really great to work with on some of these new ideas.

I will try to provide a timeline on the switch over in the next week or so...challenge like everyone is to find the time and resources to switch it over to the new software.

Sorry for the slow speed - I feel your pain when I visit every day as well and I am aware of the situation and will do my best to try to fix it properly.

Thanks, contact me if you have any advice.
