Haven't put up the rain gauge yet but we probably received the same here south of Red Deer. Worked a field for the crops we don't zero till and it was marginally wet. Wouldn't have done it if it wasn't May. It will take three to four days of hot windy weather to get in the fields. There will be a lot of potholes farmed around this year.

Similar situation here NE Edmonton. Was barely dry enough to start rolling before this deluge. Rain makes grains!!

Try this on for size they are forcasting over 80MM in eastern Saskatchewan for today till monday. seeding is just started. Here we go again.
Oh yea and the great NDP party of Saskatchewan have just anounced that they have no money for farmers for flood assistance like last year.

Environment Canada had been forecasting 20-40 mm for Southern Alberta a few days ago. We only got 13 mm spread out over 3 days, so we'll be spraying this morning and seeding again this afternoon.

very little seeding except the northern edge of the Peace - LaCrete/High Level....we may have up to two inches of rain now in places in the last two to three days....it is washing the rest of the snow off the fence lines and the ditches are back to high flow....it will be awhile before seeding gets going with weahter forcast it might be next weekend at best...good luck all

We have had 90mm since Wednesday, west central AB. Proof again that lots of the land in these marginal grain areas should be growing grass not grain. It'll grow us a pile of grass soon and keep the farmers out of the fields for a good while which in turn will make for plenty cheap cattle feed this fall. It's a win-win for us - tough on the farmers though. Maybe they could blame the CWB??

Saskfarmer, of course the NDP won't have money for farmers they are too busy paying off old party caucus members who want to retire now after they were caught covering up thefts, and paying those who got caught chasing secretaries around the office desk.

I used to like rain.

We had just over 1.75 inches here SE of Calgary. We were seeding back on May 2nd but we won't be seeding again for at least a week most likely. Wet on top of wet. Sloughs that had dried are totally full again not to mention my saturated septic field. Pumping every 3-5 hours still. We're not in as bad shape as some here on Agriville but enough already Mother Nature!!
