This was a couple nights ago southern Alberta view if you get this you had land in a reported storm area looks like the one in our area went just by south of some of our irrigated stuff that I'm sure hoping to get ,the one field is Westking under a circle that has had the full meal deal and I want to see what it can do. thankful to miss it though we've already had 2 storms get us this year on other fields, last night Didsbury was hit , from west to South East and another bad one Claresholm se through Granum then down through Coaldale .
Am going to see if I can get the cumulative map in a month. There's a lot of it coloured in this year.

Beautiful wheat crop. What is your seeding rate on irrigation? Keep us in the loop as to how it did. We usually only seed durum and I am looking to add a few acres of wheat in the future. Not sure which variety to go with. Brown soil zone here.

Damn it LEP, if you would have just attended the Crop Club tour you would have heard my hard red spring wheat variety rant that I told to anyone who would listen.

To summarize the 5 minutes worth of umms, ahhs and tangents: Brandon is still boss. Westking is under scrutiny as it's replacement this year. Yield monitor data will make the final call.

Ask me about Leroy, Sovite, Titanium, or Hughes if you have time to waste, because that's all they were to me.

Ya couldn't make it this year.

We have grown Brandon in the past when it first came out. So many years ago. But have been strictly durum and also alittle soft white in low, wetter areas.

Thinking Brandon, Westking or Oakman because we had some sawfly problems and the yield penalty might be a sawoff.

I like Brandon but we sure have had trouble with it sprouting while standing the last 2 years.

We did 138 lbs target was 28-30 plants per sq ft, 2 reasons didn't want to push it too crazy until we access the variety ( been screwed by new varieties before) and that was the amount that would get us through the qtr as we had seeded a field of dryland just before to get a fair assessment. Irrigation has had 240 lbs of total n and a pgr.
