USDA August Crop Report + Wet June East vs Hot/Dry West = Trend Line Yields or Lower?

North Dakotas G-E corn crop conditions plunged 13% to 37%! ND only got 50% of normal precip in July with temps 4.5 degrees higher than normal with a poor start to August and very little rain in the 8–14-day forecast.
Will the USDA 2026 August crop report surprise with yields/acres and/or demand?
China continues to buy U.S. soybeans and did China buy U.S. corn under “unknown.”
Impact of a Super Strong El Nino on the 2026 North American harvest and the 2026 Brazil soybean plating season.
U.S. drought monitor vs. last year.
    + CFTC.

Happy Friday! Will the USDA surprise in the August crop report next week or "kick the can down the road"? Do you think the lows are in or could we retest the end of June lows?
