Setting The Combine For Our First Ever Canola Harvest!

The excitement of harvesting their first-ever canola crop was quickly matched by a steep learning curve. With no previous experience, they soon realized that minimizing seed loss requires precision, preparation, and the right harvesting techniques.

Someone should set his AHC and sell him a drop pan.
Found out at 60, never too old to learn something new.

Wasn't ready for the sound of an Iveco starting up for another month or two.

He’s too cheap to buy a drop pan. I suggested that and a pea auger but that costs money. He was more worried about the shelling on the divider and thot having a roto shear or knife to cut the canola would be a better investment. Told him just to grow a better pod shatter variety.

Well how would he know. A new specialty crop for him and that's great. Maybe winter varieties don't have pod shatter.
Maybe his stand isn't as heavy.
He's going on about loading shoe. What modules does he have for a start.
We don't have roto shears and I think the dividers generally don't shell any more, likely less.
He needs the seed saver kit on his adapter and the reel set back kit too.
His problem, especially if he won't listen. Likely a small acre problem for him anyway. No drop pan.
