Not quite 3 hours ago a small storm popped-up over the area, dumped some rain and small hail. The neighbor got pics and video of a small funnel cloud. The storm quickly moved off to the north and all was good.

Two and a half hours later my phone starts blaring with a warning from Environment Canada that a possible tornado is in our area and we should find shelter. So I go out scan the skys and see only sunshine in all directions. Geez Louise Environment and Climate Change Canada, you were a bit late to the party.

Had the same thing happen 5 or 6 years ago.

A nice quiet summer day but you could see an angry cloud bank on the western horizon. So I checked the Davis weather station site I fed data into at the time. You could watch the stations go from 5 to 10 km/h winds to 100km/h as the storm/plow wind moved east. Esther, then Compeer then Hoosier then Smiley. It gave me at least an hour to run around the yard and nail everything down. 45 minutes after it passed Environment Canada issues the plow wind warning for Kindersley and area. Frick, it had probably already gone past Rosetown by then.
