Just curious about all that land in northern Manitoba that Monette’s cleared all the trees off and piled up all bush? Multiple Dozers worked on that project a couple winters ago.
Has anything else been done to develop that land?
Is it all growing back to bush?
    Anyone hear or see anything?

Just looking at The Pas on google earth, no up to date imagery, so I can't answer your question.

      But I have another question.

How did it happen that half of the land in The Pas area is surveyed at a diagonal, and the rest in the usual way? Was that remote area settled before the surveyors got there? Or was it intentionally surveyed that direction to match the landscape? I wish our area could have been surveyed on a diagonal to match the prevailing goegraphy. So every field wouldn't have to be a triangle or diamond.

Does it follow the river? Most early surveys did east Saskatchewan

          That might be River Lots?
Some west of Prince Albert. Batoche. Near Winnipeg at Red River settlement,
I think it was a Metis thing? Gave more access to the river. Before provincial survey.

Cleared land was in Eddystone not the Pas. Most of the Pas land was cleared some in pasture but mostly sod or already farmed land. Good land but can be real wet some years. They have got lucky that they have had some dry years up there so have done well
