Just wondering if anybody has any experience with it? Much for N loss when using the sulphur as a stabilizer? Someone on here was mentioned they were doing this a couple years ago and I can’t find it.

I do , late in fall with stabilizer , 28-0-0
very little loss
soil tests before application in fall and spring in same fields show very little loss

Have not done with sulfur yet as we use bio-sul on most acres
but will do some this fall on rented land with no sulfur program
I would still add the stabilizer, it’s low volume , easy to handle and relatively inexpensive

We stream thiosulphate in the fall before canola. We used to put alot of 28 on in the fall, but it really depends on your winter as to losses.
We sometimes have variable snow cover and 2 or 3 springs before seeding. So now we apply super-u ahead of the drill.
Always stabilize 28 that you apply off-season.

We did a late fall trail
28 with stabilizer
NH3 with stabilizer
46 super U
end of the day we still do 28 with stabilizer
far far cheaper to apply and near zero difference in yield

Almost the same cause you can buy 28 in July , most times can’t pre buy NH3 till fall when near applicationOriginally posted by dfarms11 View Post
Why 28 and not NH3? Woukd the NH3 not be cheaper?
Also when you add fuel cost , hours depreciation on tractor and time , NH3 is much more expensive
We stream on with an old 9370 and that big 132 ft pull type with section control and dual rate
When you add it up it’s not even close actually
I can stream on 160 ac in just over an hour on extremely little fuel and near zero depreciation on a 1993 tractor that sips fuel at 1500 rpm
Also once anhydrous in fall it needs to be harrowed in spring adding more costs and time
I stream on in fall and then just seed in spring for the most part
