Oh I'm out on seeding progress 80%. I'll go with mine vs the province.

In Lethbridge today for a mri. Great looking crops here they have had 4-5 inches , amazing very little standing water. We are finished seeding and will finish rolling today, then start in crop on peas monday , then canola.

Local retailers are phoning, all sitting on excess supply, turns out there was no shortage after all? What gives with the fear mongering we were hearing?

Finished up Sunday night and onto spraying wheat. Still lots of guys going. Had 1-2 inches of rain in places last night. Some of that won’t get seeded now. Gonna be a lot more acres that don’t see a drill. Even if they do it’s a 30-70 it makes it in the fall. Getting late now and gonna need a hot summer to bring it along.
I got a question though. What the hell is going on with the wheat price? Talk about screwage again. US wheat in the shitter and late seeding in Canada and they find a way to kill the price. F’n criminals

canora area is wet... very wet. big rains yesterday I think put the fork into the roast, she's done. lots of acres left to be seeded. lots seeded into saturated soils which will be going anerobic soon. all fertility will be lost and roots will not develop and will rot. mud is a dud that the market just doesn't understand. keep any grain that wasn't bought on a false premise and use paper (calls or puts) but hen again that market isn't any more safe than the cash market.

Lots of people happy about the 4 inches of rain here in Alberta, but I would have been very happy with 1 inch. Still some acres to be seeded around here. However, I think there was a lot of damage done by the flooding especially on canola. Cereals that did not drown will be mostly alright but I think a lot of canola is crop insurance including my own due to the reasons you describe. I cut back due to the fertilizer shake down this spring but where is that fertility now? Small, recently emerged canola will not be able to fish for it as it does not have any root yet.

We are spraying wheat and corn is next son said he made no ruts so far ...winning !I am moving grassers out to pastures but still more fence to fix. Maybe my back would feel better if I had switched to totes sooner instead of using those Liberty jugs. 12 volt pump is not much of a pain.
