As wet as we were ,this week of mid 30s and 60k winds has dried it down to the seed bed. Crazy snow banks to fires in the north within two weeks. Maybe isolated tstorms for our area this weekend .

If we get the latest forecast here east of edmonton there will be the most water around since the days of Noah. Total devastation. Would rather lose crop to drought than a flood.

Here in south east Sask I have seen more soil has blown in the last couple of weeks than blew in the last 35 years combined. Guys that rolled peas seeded on canola stubble really paid for it. There is more "recreational rolling " going on these days and blowing was far worse on those fields. I remember years ago when pea and lentil rolling got started, we rolled when the crop was up as that what was recommended. A new generation farming today has never seen the 80's and the blowing dirt. We used to had things worked up like a garden so the IH 620 press drills worked well in those days. This spring is sure a reminder why we went to direct seeding and minimizing disturbance.

I agree on the direct seeding and nothing blowing years ago it would have been four days of no sun and hiding. School exams cancelled when I was younger because Lipton gym had a coating of dirt on desks after four days of wind like we're experiencing
            Wood ticks suck.

Wtf just hit Dafoe? Hail and rain up to 6 in.

            Not good.

Well I woke up this morning and I looked out the window and there was something in my yard I hadn’t seen in May of 2026, a puddle. It will take a lot to flood us out.

All we got outta this, “ system” is heat and unrelenting winds. How can anyone get their spraying done? The rain all went to Alberta this time.

The Quill Lake area is sad. They had a decade to mitigate that area from flooding , instead people will blame climate change nonsense .

If they know or believe that , then why not take steps to mitigate the the issue when that opportunity arises.

Same with knowing that forest fires by arsonists or climate change will be a problem - either arrest the arsonists or buy more promised fire fighting equipment .
