Gonna finish planting corn this morning its a heat wave plus 3. I think about 15 years ago we planted corn in cold ground that never did warm up ,cold summer and ended up swathing in front of chopper it was so poor and short. Don't see many cattle trailers on hi-way just flat decks hauling hay. No grass and lots of blown down trees on fence lines to fix thanks to those couple of breezy days...... job security they call it right !

Everything at a standstill in the Wascana Flats. Hopefully shallow-seeded Canola will start going in soon as predicted temps are encouraging.

Rain turned to snow on Thursday. We were white like Christmas, every morning Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon. Mostly melted each day except for Sunday it was white pretty much all day as the snow kept coming and it was cool enough that the melt couldn’t keep up. Sunny today but rain forecast starting this afternoon, tomorrow and Thursday. Won’t be able to touch the fields for a few days now, likely not til the weekend. I guess we should enjoy it. Could be the last rain of the year.
