Speaking of magnum. I Can't understand why someone wouldn't just buy a Magnum for a third the price of the cobbled together Chinese tractor which is half the price of a new tractor. Then have something that can be serviced, and has parts available and has a wet clutch and a power shift. But still has mechanical non-emissions engine. All mechanical controls.
30 years from now higher percentage of the Magnums will still be in operation versus these tractors.

Same argument could have been made about the Belarus back in their day. Why not buy a used brand name tractor for the same price, the cost of ownership over the ensuing decades would have been far lower.

A more viable business model might be buying up Magnums or 55 series deeres and completely remanufacturing them to showroom condition.

Cat has a program for their equipment where they do exactly that.

And who is asking for all these bells and whistles on these tractors ? the young pups ? Does everybody need a tractor that can monitor and change the air tire pressure every minute ?

Good point A5 but the 55 Deere not in same league as Magnum in my opinion.

OC. If only we could order the South American models.
Efficiency options matched to needs and labor force. Here we get them all and don't use half.
Like buying a damn vehicle. Can't order without.

The McCormick line for eg was supposed to fill that need.
But there again you get what you pay for.
At least a plain jane F150 has the same size cab!

            I agree,
I had to throw that in there for the green underwear crowd.

4440’s get an honourable mention for tractors worth rebuilding, one flaw is too many rubber o rings that harden from heat and time.

I have had some nice old 40 and 50 series JD's but they aren't great for a loader tractor around cattle.
Have a wore out old 6400 that can give so gremlin issues with electrical sensors but with the power quad, FWA, TPH, SL loader with joystick and much better visibility for loader work, I didn't use the 4250 much.

Those old tractors were great for less agrivating problems but couldn't compare for productivity or maneuverability.

Great for a running baggers or smaller augers.

Edit: This is not a recommendation that a JD 6400 is a great tractor.
                  Lots agrivating little issues.

Agree but the honorable mention comes from market demand and not comparable features. A very reliable close second place. And no I don't want to start a color war

I see these China tractors on Agtalk listed at 25-30 grand is that true seems pretty cheap even for China stuff. That's like 1 payment for a red or green worth 10 times as much. And no I don't own a mini skid.
