Clhbid RM of Big Stick land sale

Did anyone watch this sale yesterday? This land in SW Saskatchewan is in an area hard hit by drought the past few years. IIRC this sale involved about 8 quarters. I have been in this area a few time so am somewhat familiar with it. All record of this sale has been scrubbed from the internet which is what CLH does if it does not get an opening bid. This has happened a number of times in my hood here. This is why when there is a land downturn it is hard to know that it is happening as it goes unadvertised. I don't remember what the opening bids were on this land but what this does tell us that land is definitely dropping in non central areas, which is where a downturn is seen first.

There was a day when we bought land for an income stream - yep. That day coming back?

It is coming back but a long ways away though. Who knew 30 years ago that there would be an unprecedented period of money printing and laundering that the ag industry would have to endure and that northern shitholistan would be the epicenter of all that. There are so many today that have no sense of right or wrong whatsoever including marxist' newly bribed mp. You mean direct procurement from my own company and expensing it is illegal? Pretty hard to compete in this environment as an honest man.

The land is in my backyard. 10 miles NW of me. Good farmland , some alkali in lower areas , but is an estate sale essentially , and if mother nature would be a little more kind to us out here the prices would be better. I have not heard if it sold or if any of the parcels sold.

Bad enough when Mother Nature doesn't co-operate but now the economics of it will make it hard too. Some crappy grain prices and high inputs will strain growers even more. Lots of variability across the Canadian Prairies, some areas feel lots of pain while others barely notice anything.
