Grain futures on fire Sunday night.. unfortunately they’ve backed off by the am. Yes it’s sad that there is a “new war” going on (Ukraine war still happening if anyone forget and is still affecting millions of lives), but this has giving our farm a opportunity to make 2025 profitable and we’re able to start laddering in profitable new crop trades, a few too early but oh well.
I’m hearing inputs have really jumped as well, but has anyone heard if equipment dealers are starting to raise their prices as well or are they just happy to get some iron off the books?

Fuel way up .37 /litre since mar 1, 46-0-0 was 1065 /t Friday at one retail I talked to ,was cranky at 780/785 when we booked our Sept/ Oct loads in July , phos is stable.
Deere had corporate money in Feb to move some used off the lots, told us they'd look at all reasonable offers ,Brandt was sitting on a ton of 540-590 late model 4wds all winter sounds like they moved some through that program.
Probably going to see if we can get some HTA Dec wheat today, cover some unsold old crop where the basis just keeps taking away the futures gains.
Richardson Lethbridge had .45 cent basis for Dec canola Friday, took some of the to do the same on some loads of canola. Can cover some unpriced product or use to to hedge new crop production overnight could have locked in 16.55 for those tonnes with futures only target currently at 16.21 .
A very
interesting/ challenging years to operate/ market in for sure.
Set of toes time to pay attention to what's important

There maybe a shortage (so called ) fert, chem or cheap fuel but there's no shortage of used combines of any color on any lot. Son picked up one a week ago and didn't make much of a dint in the used row. They were in dealing mood.Got the glossy RB wishbook in the mail the other day no shortage of good looking steel in there.

I know the news has been paid to smear pp. if you look at the big scandals the PC party has had. Mike Duffy was a big one.
he is not done yet.
