Friday Cocktail second week of February.

Well, well, it's the Winter Olympics. I'm amazed at the dog running down the ski hill he deserves a gold medal.

Interesting week in Ag. Canada gives more money from Ag Canada to study gender-affirming rice or some bullshit than the cost of keeping the research centres open. The Ag minister is a ****ing joke and so is the department.

Fcc president is happier with Castro than Canadian farmers.

Canada is finally telling Canadians to stay away from Cuba. Well no kidding. Let's all go to a communist beach country.

Canola had a good week down this morning. It hit $15 yesterday then went down. Seen a $12.50 Canadian price for soy for fall.

Argentina is dry, with a few spotty showers.

Brazil's harvest is happening and the seed is sprouting from the rain at harvest.

I have asked and will ask again. Just back, in Florida and my grass, plants, and trees are all severely damaged by the frost that happened while I was gone. So how is winter wheat looking that can't take cold?

Hutts are moving east and taking out some big farms. Is it time to change the rules?

The USA is looking at more humanoid robots for the military of the future.

    Usa drought keeps, getting worse.

Cotton seeding will be less in 2026.

Soy had a good week up till today.

It's Saskatchewan spring break week. The four is so busy in Florida I know the tourists are here when it takes two hours to get home from the airport.

Is Doug ford just stupid, incompetent or retarded?

Carney is losing in the game to Pouch conservatives or NDP so now he's working with fat Doug to call an election, again orange man bad with Doug fords help!

Carla Beck should just quit or retire or give up. Every day she calls a media circus to pretend to have more by shirt and curlies and every day facts shut her down.

The NDP is a one trick pony look at BC and Manitoba bottom feeders with no plan. But Carla is different. Hahaha

It was AG DAY IN CANADA this week do we all feel appreciated?

My heart sinks for the people, of Tumbler. A mental person shot and killed Canadians just going to school. This isn't about guns but mental health. The shooter needed help and everything seems to protect him not the victims. Maybe it's a wake up call. Laying flowers and a bunch of politicians visiting and doing nothing doesn't help.

Ah I have been gone two weeks and probably missed some news.

    It's Friday cocktail time.

    Aperol Spritz

    Ingredients:

    • 3 oz Prosecco (or any dry sparkling wine)

    • 2 oz Aperol

    • 1 oz soda water (club soda)

    • Ice cubes

    • Orange slice (for garnish)

    Instructions:

    1. Fill a large wine glass (or rocks glass) with ice.

    2. Pour in the Aperol, then the Prosecco.

    3. Top with a splash of soda water.

    4. Stir gently, add an orange slice (give it a quick squeeze first for extra aroma), and enjoy immediately.

It’s that easy—no shaker needed. The ratio is often remembered as 3-2-1 (Prosecco-Aperol-soda). If you want it a touch sweeter, add a bit more Prosecco; for more bitterness, lean on the Aperol

My son and I were discussing Tumbler Ridge. Some of it was a little too familiar for him. We both agreed the mother was completely responsible. Govt can't stop that. Nothing will change.
Need to ban all weapons soon.

    My 2 cents.
    NDP a contender in AB.
    Carney here to stay.
Any culture that maintains a multi-generatioal family unit will prevail.
    Hutts, East Indians, Chinese etc.
FCC pisses me off all the time, whatevs.
Time to step up and keep those stations.

The people voted or say they represent you , in regards to the research stations have done a very poor job paying attention or representing farmers.

These cuts or new regulations for cattle don't just pop up. It takes weeks for bureaucrats just to word the posters or online briefs so they are OK with farmers/ranchers.

The weather station at the lacombe research station was one of the few continuous uncontaminated weather stations which has remained in the same location. And has not been absorbed by Urban sprawl. Murray Hartman did an excellent analysis of those pristine weather records. Showing the drastic improvement in weather.

It would be a shame if that too is discontinued or lost to development now.

Let's gone out of Canada this week flights coming in to Florida every day just different ways now some use Denver, Minneapolis and other ways cheaper than west jet or air canada.

I think we need to push eastern canada to get its shit together or the west is gone.

I don't think Carney is going anywhere, the PC's need a reset of some kind as their platform was to fight Trudeau and now the Liberals are using the conservative play book. Liberals have moved to the center.
In Sask the Sask party have to build some inroads back into cites now solidly NDP. All the NDP has to do is attract a few ridings and its game over.
In the northern BC thing. With the clear history of mental illness in that persons life never never should the guns been given back after many interventions. The rules were in place to prevent this sort of thing. I think there is going to be a few people that are going to look very bad after bad discissions were made.

Emergency meeting a ciuple days ago about the ag closures. Thats a good sign. Im willing to bet they find some funds.. cant believe indianhead was going to be closed. Lacombe too. Havent alot of pea varieties come out of that program?

finally we see some pushback regarding usa tariffs as even repubs voted across the floor.

Tumbler ridge is heartbreaking. Its incredible that the guns were given back. I dont care if the person was white..black...or identified as a walrus. Mental health issues are mental health issues and that house never should have been allowed a gun.

" we're gonna take your guns away because we have had issues... but here. Take them back. Im sure your issues are resolved. "

Certainly agree, Tumbler Ridge is hard to fathom. The RCMP have stated the shotgun used in the house and the modified rifle used in the school had not been previously seized by the RCMP. The origin of these two guns is trying to be identified.

As for the closure of research stations, seems very short sighted. Certainly not part of the government that Justin Trudeau expanded under his tenure, just the opposite. He added tens of thousands of federal employees but not in the ag portfolios.

Durum is dirt cheap. I know guys dropping it or severely cutting acres. High nitrogen user and nitrogen is way too high but hey let’s shut down 3 nitrogen plants and jack the price. (Sheds full maybe?).
Sask ag has verticillium map out. Looks to be devastating Manitoba. Even with record Canola acres, production problems look to be growing disease, insects
