They have a lot of right sizing to do to seed with $40 million?

Still owe the little outfit in Hafford $4.6 million?

        Tell me about it.

After paying off some big mortgages last year before they reset into much higher interest rates, our corp ended up with a generous six figure tax bill to go along with it.

It hurts, but I will choose the short-term tax bill over interest in the long term.

If they're still farming 400,000 acres, they have $100 per acre to cover seed, fertilizer, chemical, fuel, crop insurance, rent, equipment payments etc

If that's all it costs to put in a crop, they must be making really good profits.

Or they need an additional $40 million beyond what they have now which may or may not be considerable.

Agstar, what do you find so funny about paying taxes? Or do you just find it funny when other people are paying taxes?

You must have spilled over into the next higher corporate tax bracket if you owe a 6 figure tax bill.
Then they'll tax you again when you take a salary or dividend(may be eligible dividend) from the Corp.
There isn't anything for nothing.... an integrated tax system to make sure everybody pays their share, except those who don't have to pay.

Thats why part of me hates this country, there's Makers and Takers.
A punitive tax system that disinsentivizes people.
At a certain point you ask yourself why you're doing it and who you're working for.

The response to that picture tells you all you need to know about someones status as a maker or taker.
