If one were planning on selling out in the next 10 years, I don't think I would get greedy and turn down these prices.

I don't think I'm brave enough to think I could sell out and buy it back again cheaper though.

How long do you think you'll live.
Is it okay to die on the place.
What do you see when you look in the mirror.
What is your most valuable legacy not related to money.
If you had only one more kick at the can, what would you do.
Ever once thought of what a different life could look like.
Being unable to answer all those questions myself, I surely can't tell you when exactly the crash is coming.
But I can tell you there might be more to life.

I think everyone has different needs and wants but it's up to us to find the balance that works for each of us personally. I find I'm happiest when I stop comparing. Some people wouldn't be happy living my life, as I wouldn't be happy living like some other people do, to each their own. I've also learned it's best for me not to bend and contort myself into a pretzel trying to please and appease other people, staying true to self serves me best.

          Take care everyone...

I see what I have around me and it's not the monetary assets putting the biggest smile on my face on a daily basis.

Wealth {money} has been given way to high of a priority as a measurement of success.

Just look around you and see how today's society has lost it's focus on family.

              Back to thread topic....

What surprised me on that sales list was the assessment of some of the soil classes.
We have lower classed soil, lots of J's with assessment about equal to the C,D and E's on that list. But the prices received have us beat by about $200K. Also on the list, didn't seem to matter if the soil class was a K or the C,D or E's.... they brought about the same dollar. But, that could simply be because it was a large package deal and the total price close to evenly distributed amongst all the parcels, on a $/ac basis. Truly disguising the differences, not a true assessment of value based on quality when that's done.

Not uncommon for huts having to pay some of the highest prices for some of the crappiest land around here. That's how they make some of the bigger land purchases now. Usually backed by the old colony on real good dirt trying to do a split.

This is interesting. Monette’s has filed for protection under the Company’s Creditors Arrangements Act. (Bankruptcy Protection.) Sent a letter to Landlords telling them as much. (Damage control.) Lots of vague statements. Secured creditors trying to get their money back. Unsecured are not in a good place right now. Why would anyone rent land to these big guys? I don’t feel sorry for any Landlords who get stiffed. They did it to themselves.

Basically all contracts are still valid while the insolvency proceedings are in effect.

Monette is getting free land for this year curtesy of bankruptcy law is what that letter says. Don't dare lock the gate and rent to another or the secured creditors lawyer be calling. All cash going to secured creditors. Wonder how they will keep the wheels turning access fuel and fertilizer? Bottom line this is saying that land value are going despite nobody believing they can no more.
