    Pea and Canola price increase

Has anyone seeing any canola , pea price increases yet?

We contracted some new crop maple peas last January 2025 for harvest 2025 that they still have not picked up.

    hopefully they will move soon

This likely wont impact the market much on yellow peas but should give a lift to maples and green peas. China is 100% of maple market and a major buyer of green peas. But they will take bleach peas and we didn't really have anyone to buy the bleach green peas before the tariffs were removed.

Saying that, the buyer in China do not yet have official document from their govt yet so this wont really start until that happens. Buyers are waiting.

Hursh says big increase in pea prices. Hahahah I'm thinking maybe a little over 8 for yellows not 10 to 12 where they should be.

There's a long list of countries that have attempted to bypass the US dollar. They almost always end up with CIA orchestrated coups, color revolutions, assassinated leaders and government overthrows.

              Will we be next?

Nope. I have a hard enough time working with one currency, ie usd. Trying to hedge yuan with usd $ ocean freight costs and cdn $ rail costs would be a nightmare. Won't happen in my lifetime.
