Has any one used these? In what brand of combine?
What's the good, the bad and the ugly?

They are built heavy.

We have a set in an S670 JD we bought used. Seller swore by them. We couldn't clean up the sample due to white caps. We added in a couple of full covers over the front two openings with limited success. We took them out before we could get them to function properly. This winter we are getting more covers, both full and slotted to see if that helps. These are three year old concaves, I believe the latest model is a little different.

The gaps between the bars are quite wide in the concaves the further back they're installed in the combine. I suppose there may be an option to mix and match different concave configurations. The concaves I looked at were numbered from one to four and in a dual rotor combine you need two sets of those and they were opposites of each other from side to side.

One other thing I cant wrap my head around is the design of the bars on the concaves. Its basically a heavy rod with a quarter of it machined out the length of the rod. So in essence you have 90° of the rod missing. The vertical edge it creates is quite sharp, which in my opinion isn't a bad idea(until they wear lots). The issue to me is the "shelf" the horizontal part of the machined out portion creates. To me, the grain can't easily fall through the concave, it would almost seem to hold the grain too long, and it's peas I'm concerned about. Where in a conventionally designed concave the grain can easily fall past the bars.

Think if you traced the history, originally a bean corn concave.
Fill plates for other.
Pricey.

We like our Mads. Wht, can. Wide space. Still need to swap in full set wide wires for oats and peas. Wouldn't go back to factory.
