    Canola varieties

Curious if anyone grew Dekalb 801? Is the pod shatter tech as good as the Invigor varieties?

Yep, but it doesn't need to be. It was dried down and ready to harvest way sooner than the Invigors

Fall of 2024 we had a lot of wind and none of the varieties from anyone I saw were even close to the Invigors. And there was even a big difference between Invigor varieties.

Now I live in an areas that swaths blow away regularly, hence no one swaths canola anymore. So shatter resistance is critical. If you live in an area that has minimal canola swath blowing, then the shatter resistance on Dekalbs and others is probably good enough.

In 2024 the weaker pod shatter ones had 30-40% shelling loss and Invigor L340 had 5 %
