    Carney had a bad week.
First Danny called his hand and said it was time to lay the cards on the table.
Do you actually support Alberta with the Energy Superpower BS?
Then along come the Chinese and say No problem, Just drop those Tariffs you say don't help anyone.

    Off he goes to Gaza.

Definitely interesting to see how all this is playing out .
      None of it overly surprising

So what would YOU do if you were in power... decided to drop the tariff. And trump threatens all of your grain imports into the usa with a 100% tariff?
Well, I've not given up on Canada. I, also, have not given up on China. I have given up on the USA because it is hostile, and could easily 100 percent tariff our grain for any reason including using EVs. Even if you were to solve that, there would be another excuse why that wasn't good enough for the US.

Certainly not easy. Trump has blatantly stated he wants to see all automobile manufacturing moved from Canada to the U.S. Drop the tariff on Chinese EV’s and now you have a two front war for the survival of Canadian automobile manufacturing. Drop the 25% tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum(also mentioned by the ambassador) and you have more problems.

If as Prime Minister you actually cared about western Canadian farmer(which you don’t as a Liberal) you would provide per bushel compensation for lost canola value due to the tariffs similar to what is being done in the U.S. for soybeans.

What would I do as Prime Minister? I honestly don’t know. You have a declining automobile production over the last decade. Your predecessor has done everything he could to hold back Western Canadian industries and yet they flourish, he has subsidized the steel and automobile industries yet they decline. What to do now?

I just learned that Canada has had an embargo on Russian Urea. The US doesn't. And the majority of urea coming up from NOLA is Russian, but we can't buy it, so we get to pay more.

Wonder where they buy the potash from?

A import tax on urea, what a stupid policy, obviously no ag ministers or producer commodity groups would support this ?

Do we have import restrictions on phosphate out of North Africa and Russia?

Vassy on Power Play had 2 interviews today.

One guy was a bit of an ass. Mostly said cheap cars are not what we really need or want.
                  I'll try post that below.

At the end of the day , what Canadian EV manufacturers are at risk ? How many actual EV’s have been built in Canada the past few years ? What are we protecting to give up western Canadian Ag’s billions on wealth creation??
