Happening in Western Canada as well?

From a mate good farmer in WA
Think we have to start looking elsewhere for our machines, and give countries that buy our produce a look in. logically you could buy 2, one for spares, and still have $200k left in your pocket ! not as cheap, but have bought a south korean Kioti tractor which seems fine.

Once someone gets a name established the price of steel rises up to the level of the rest of them it seems. Lots of hobby farm equipment sells cheaper at auction barns but built for light use not every day wear and tare. Service and parts keep a lot of us faithfull (maybe hostage)to the higher priced steel brands.

Well I guess I’m different, most of my equipment is obsolete, just ask the dealer and anything older than 25 years and the dealer doesn’t have parts, I usually try buying a pair and a spare, problem is the spare has the same worn out parts as the pair.

Them is some good ole machines. Grew up doing summerfallow on those ole girls. They were what u wanted for power and relatively comfortable. If they made new ones just like that for the price we paid back then I’d have them again. Just think of the production u get out of them and the money u save. Good on you for not following the “technology” into never ending debt!

We have a mix of slightly newer to older reliable equipment
Nephew is full on ready to go into the 5 th generation here so need to keep some stuff up to date
I admire those who run all older well maintained equipment, takes a lot of time and dedication

We live in an interesting pocket where no one runs all new equipment in a very big area here
All have a mix and probably for good reason as this area is so hit and miss for good crops and most are very cautious.
Go west of here and definitely a different story but if your in an area of reliable rainfall and steady good crops there is a tax incentive for those type farms . Is what it is

Combines with headers, millions of moving parts, grinding away in the dirt 14 hour days. What could go wrong - WILL. New is definitely better.

Kubota tractors have taken most of the market share for the cattlemen around here in recent years. Seem to be standing up to the abuse. Warranty and support are far superior to their competition.
