Anyone getting contacted by their buyers wanting to renegotiate their contracted green lentil prices?
Apparently 38 cents is the new 50.

What's to renegotiate? I have never had them call to increase my price as prices rise.

Exactly, there was zero negotiating, it was pay up and shut up .
cost farmers millions and millions in 2021 .
on top of it the elevators changed guys interest

The lentil crops looked like the real winner this year. Clean even crops, thick and standing up until the late rains came. Then not so much. Flat on the ground & heavy late weed pressures and downgrades. Not in all areas but it seems grades fall if there is a major wreck even if you have good quality as the buyers want it to blend their mess they have to deal with.

Same holds true for most crops this year. Mildew and sprouts on durum at 15% protein and 10% moisture along with 390 weight. Seems they are looking for a unicorn.

They are not paying 12 bucks for durum so 7 bucks for a 3cwad they shouldn't be too picky IMHO.

I think the mildew may be kochia dust but they won't do much but laugh at that suggestion.

That really burns me up. In 2021 my Ricardson rep told me they weren’t allowed to write off a one bushel shortage.

There were several guys here that had to write huge cheques.
Even when guys tried to buy out by mid July before the prices went sky high they said not a chance .
We tried to buy out some CPS cause we knew full well the crop was pooched by mid July , they intentionally drug their feet till it cost us double 4 weeks later .
thankfully we did not contract a huge amount but still writing cheques to line companies just about broke many farms
There some some comments on here about to bad so sad , I wonder if that opinion still holds true now that the tables have turned??
