Friday Crop Report on a Thursday, wow the last week of August.

Definitely frustrating to watch grain prices plummet while shaving the ground to get 15-20 bushels of wheat on what was a 60 bushel crop .
Unfortunately as you go east from here it gets worse as there is just stubble left
No doubt a huge swath in southern Alberta in same situation

Got this yesterday, makes a guy throw up in his mouth a little. I don't know how to pencil a profit next year at these prices without major cost reduction on inputs, machinery, fuel and parts. The risk of planting a crop isn't worth the reward.

I get a kick out of my Crop Insurance prices versus the market prices right now. I'm sure we will pay for that next year in our area.

do not feed the beasts with haul now and pay later that is how we get depressed grain prices for a long time. Store at home or in a pile don,t let them steal your grain.

Grain going in bins thats just dry or not quite with this heat is a recipe for disaster.Guy down the road was turning his bins today.

Barley prices tend to be better after 50 days of -24 and 2ft of snow.

Pulled into one field of wheat, 50. Next field almost 100. As always, one rain made the difference. Crazy year yet again. North of here lots of wheat in the 70-80’s. Elevators will be plugged in no time. Guess bin it and play the waiting game.
