Nobody is buying fertilizer, ask your retailer what percentage they are at compared to the past few years ?
Farmers are not setting the price by buying , the industry is intentionally setting the price very high with very little substance for the huge increase
Agree no one should be buying but some do what they need too for their own business planning .
Machinery pricing is being dictated by auctions now , good used stuff is coming down . Some good deals have been made cause dealers are panicking with inventory

Make summer fallow great again in 2026. Buy Glyphosate now as it relatively cheap. Cover crop blends with legumes and bale some acres next summer could be an option for me worth exploring. This area get city of edmonton sludge applied which has nutrients but you likely get some stuff you don't want too. I drive by a number of fields that have had it applied and are cropped currently.

Local fert dealer had another record year and guys here spend just as much on beans and corn as they do on canola and wheat. Beans love phos and potash and I don't see a lot of extra n in the soil next year for canola or wheat. Local BTO's are not sowing down land to hay when cow herds shrink and fence lines vanish.

Exactly but what are the merchants really selling it for? What are the China farmers getting for theirs in comparison that they call ours dumping? Do any farmers market direct to Chinese buyers?

Makes you wonder who is trying to deflect the real issue to make it look like the EV tariff is the cause. HMMM! Where is the open transparency?

I highly doubt any free market merchant would / could consistently sell our canola at a loss. A government controlled entity, maybe.

They dont lose ,farmers do. Commercial vendors only care about volume.
