Big correction coming imo, prices/costs are way out of line with local income potential. I read CNH raising prices 20% next year, good luck.

I tend to think the same way but BTOs here seem to defy logic. One 18000 ac operation here said as long as they can net 50 an acre they are happy. They buy new combines every year and all other every second. And keep adding more land. I am sure in ten years there won’t be many farms under 10000ac. And small towns are dying off with it.

What's the point of a nutrien or independent retail when the farms are larger?
Another nail in the coffin of small towns

Some deal direct with zjohn Deere, not their local dealer when they buy 50 pieces of equipment.
but guess who has to come out to fix them?
Large retail fert gets way better deal, than a smaller one.

Every oat field is toast.
Barley all turning white.
Wheat is starting to follow suit.
Canola will be making pepper now. Some lower pods managed to fill but right out of H20 now.
Peas seem to be weathering the drought but I imagine smaller size.
Canary is thin and short and struggling.
Red Clover is stressed and likes some water.
Alfalfa keeps ticking along nicely in the dry.

Had a old friend from a Winnipeg grainco come for a crop tour and BS. They’re saying that MB has a bumper, AB (excluding the peace) will have their best crop in this decade and that SK is a mixed bag but thinking cnl will come in between 21-22mmt.
It'll really depend on the next few weeks forecast.
