A wage earner would totally panic if they worked all year only to lose money .
Done that severe times over the past 30 years
sometimes a few years in a row

Does anyone know much about Johnstons tsp (Moroccan phos)? It’s being quoted $1225/mt for SK, direct to farm.

This is how it was explained to me, regarding how the large grainco’s buy/sell grain.

These companies are so large that they are always buying some grain and they know the grain will come to them eventually. Therefore they can make sales whenever the basis makes sense. They don’t worry about the futures price as they can use the futures to hedge their risk.

It’s riskier regarding smaller commodities (barley, peas, lentils and flax) where there are no futures to hedge against. The graincos have to buy a certain amount at a price they feel comfortable at (get long), make the sale and then cover that sale in at whatever the market will be.

This is very high level and not detailed as their are other things that I wouldn’t even think of.

            Still waiting.
I don’t use NH3, so being this dry won’t significant rain be needed before fall application would make sense? Otherwise lots will gas off?

Got a price yesterday. .73lb actual with tank and delivery. Up considerably from the past few years.
Some falls it’s too dry to put on but most years it rains in the fall. Once the crop drys down and nothing is using water it doesn’t take much rain and the fields will be wet again.
