    Current N pricing

The price quotes coming out now are ridiculous considering crop conditions in. 80% of western Canada .
Are they really that out of touch with reality??

I truly hope that the Green Lightning system works as advertised. We will see , we have a few trials and a buddy have over a dozen
if it proves viable these Fert companies go hang them selves
we will cut 50% of N at least going forward.

I really have trouble with a product that isn't readily quantifiable. There has to be a way to measure performance and specifications.

We have done many VR trials. One had 4 rates, replicated 4 times throughout the field. The rates were from Zero to 150% of soil test recs. zero rate N yielded 38. The 150% yielded 52. The other rates were in the middle like expected. Many in our area that year had 35 to 45 canola yields. some would have been happy with a zero rate 38, but the difference in the 52 paid for all the fertilizer and chem. (2015)

All I am saying is due diligence is required. A zero rate with residual N can look fine one year, but data has to be complete and well tested.

Called my NH3 dealer last Friday looking for a price. He said they were working on a price and would let me know early this week.
        Still waiting.

Most analysts and grain companies won’t agree with 80% of western Canadian crops being in trouble.
Just look at the prices today and new crop. One guy told me this crop is average at worst.

If you haven’t figured it out these fert prices are the new normal … it started in 21.

Farms that are paying $120-175 ac cash rent shouldn’t be considered with the price of fert.

Furrow, I’m not referring to you paying those cash rent prices. LOL
          Least I hope your not!!

I agree , but have fun under the current system.
hate to say it, but it’s completely unsustainable
never once said Zero rate , even remotely, that’s just stupidity

If your comfortable paying ransom fert prices great
I am not given our rights economic returns compared to industry

If , and if I can make N for .06c a pound and it’s viable I will be ok
If I flop, well you can pay me out for 25% of current value cause Sask land is a bargin lol
Let me know how you you make out cause I will lol
time will tell .. each to their own
