This Canadian farm economy is totally ****ed, equipment prices way beyond what production will support. Have a NH tractor getting fixed, asked the salesman about the row of balers sitting out front that nobody is buying (because nothing growing in this 5 year drought). He said they were $103k, but they are just putting their orders in for next years stock and the price is going to be $139k. For a fricken round baler.
Talk about 'Barriers to entry'. It's one thing to have existing equipment and land and keep going. It's quite another to have a couple of million cash and
bank loans to get started.?
