I like seeing pictures of crops, here some spots are nice but when I look at plush crops I know they are sucking the juice and our juice is running out. That tornado was somewhere near us last night and pea to g**** size hail only stripped a few leaves off poplars. Unfortunately this 1/4 inch of rain won’t be enough to make a decent crop so all we can do is hope and pray for a good shot this weekend. Good Luck all Comrades

Some areas just south of river got their first real rain this growing season. For early seeded cereals far too late to get a good crop but hopefully get something now .
but those of us that farm know very well what happened last year.
many had great crops at this point only to watch it burn out out in July to end up below average.
long ways from bin , very long

Anywhere from 2/10th to 2” in a fast moving storm. Lots of hail, some crops are hurt bad. Some possibly written off already. Lots of potholes are now full. Wynyard area.

20miles west of me they got rain delivered with white combines. Heard it shredded wheat big time . We never even stopped haying or spraying.

There have been many occasions since I have had to bite my tongue. We have had excessive rains to the point of over 5 feet in one growing season and that can be no fun as well. I will say for me, however much trouble excess rain causes, it just doesn’t seem as depressing as a drought. Hope you get some rain, and soon.
Speaking as a grain farmer though. Different story for a livestock guy, in too-wet years at least you can still feed your animals.

MaRusso, you are right about wet vs dry and I have dealt with those crazy wet years we had 10-15 years ago. Hard to believe it’s been that long since 2010. One summer we had over 5 feet of rain, the quill lakes filled up. Creeks that old timers here had never seen run so full or for that matter all year round as springs fed them all through the winter. Not nice dealing with those ruts and getting stuck. I got so practised up unhooking from the drill I could pull the pin attach a tow strap pull up on a hill and back up and drop the pin in to go again only getting out of the seat twice. I meant it when I said I had to bite my tongue, hard !!!!
Still for me drought is just plain depressing.
