US-EU Tariffs on Hold, Too Much Rain in Midwest- Market Impact, and Wildfires

    Ag Commodity Corner+ Podcast

Trump paused 50% tariffs on the EU until July 9th (reciprocal tariff deadline) but 3 judges from the U.S. International Trade Court blocked Trumps tariffs saying they were illegal, but an appeal reversed the decision for now until the Supreme Court makes a final decision.

China trade talks have stalled. Any pending trade deals could take longer than expected as the U.S. loses some leverage.

More rain in the forecast for the first half of June for the U.S. Midwest (123% of normal)- this is weighing on the grain markets with everyone looking for a June weather scare but may have to wait until July?

In contrast, Western Canada looks hot and dry for the next 3 months with wildfires burning (like in 2023 that added more smoke and CO2 in the air) and its timing could add to final trendline yields.
