    Policy Analysis.

Did any Ag Association do an analysis on the cost of the capital gains tax change?

    APAS?

It doesn't look like it. The farm groups had a big pow wow in Ottawa a few days ago and obviously engaged in whiskey tasting instead of real concerns. There were lots of photo ops , noticed Todd Lewis was in a few. While they increased the exemption , they also increased the inclusion rate for taxes.

Seems odd that Dave Carey pats himself on the back for being a top lobbyist in Ottawa and this shit happens.

John Manley was interviewed and said it was poor policy to increase the rate. The liberals found it was more effective at a 50% inclusion rate back when they reduced in the 1990s.

Given the cost of living , many farmers pension relies on the sale of farm , it really makes no sense what they did.

And for other businesses , what is the incentive to set up here???

Unless business oriented all other editorials I've read are tax supportive. As are all comments.
Lobbying is an expensive, long term game. We aren't committing enough money or talent.
