Year 4 of drought here if that’s the case. Will probably start pouring in the middle of hay season.

        Feels a lot like 2002!
There was more snow that winter but still it was the only spring that had no runoff in my lifetime. Crop hung on until late June then scoring heat around the July long weekend it withered and gave up. Heavy rains showed up by early August that caused everything to start growing again and harvest went into December.
Hopefully this year is not a repeat!

Sure is eerily similar. Been rationing my feed all winter so I have enough for next winter. Apart from 21’ and 15’ we have been fortunate to have gotten timely rains. 02’ was an absolute disaster for us. Only time in 120 years we didn’t harvest any grain crops. Remember that August rain which caused everything to grow which we baled for feed. Some wouldn’t dry down and had to rent a tank of ammonia and probed a couple hundred bales so they wouldn’t burn up. My sinuses never plugged the rest of the year. Lucky we had bins of barley and a yard full of straw. Learned that from the 95’ drought.

In the 80’s they instituted open range laws and people around Radville had their kids riding horseback herding cattle all day. We had a family from Radville that baled lentil straw behind our combines for more than one year.

No winter here . Almost no snow , near freezing or above. If this continues , seeding in April with minimal moisture.

The kind of spring that doesn't end in a monsoon.

Have done a couple of springs seeding in April only to have drill sit in snow bank at the end of the field till May 15. Sure cleans up the hay bales in the feed yard when that happens ....... if you have any!

Dryer than a popcorn fart in April of 09 and the heavens opened up with more than 4 feet of rain that year.
